SPOTLIGHT: ROCK SPRINGS NATURE CENTER

The Rock Springs Nature Center in the Macon County Conservation District took advantage of a SEDAC Energy Assessment back in 2008. They have made steady progress since then in implementing demand control ventilation, occupancy sensors for lighting, furnace upgrades, setting back thermostats at night and doing some air sealing. The Center has seen a 19% drop in energy use thanks to its efforts.

Paul Marien, Macon County Conservation District Operations Manager finally found a way to control rising energy costs and mentioned that, "Measures implemented from the audit are helping Macon County Conservation District use less energy resulting in significant cost savings!" Full Story Here
